Midgar Studio and publisher Dear Villagers have announced at Microsoft’s X019 celebration that their upcoming JRPG adventure Edge of Eternity will be releasing with Xbox Game Pass in 2020.
Edge of Eternity is an ambitious new JRPG adventure that is being developed by the 9-person indie studio and taking influences from both Japanese & Western RPGs. The game was made possible by over 4000 fans who made the game a reality via a successful Kickstarter campaign. The crowdfunding was so successful that Midgard Studio was able to work with the legendary JRPG composer of Chrono Trigger and Xenoblade Chronicles Yasunori Mitsuda.
An early version Edge of Eternity is currently available on Steam Early Access for Windows where the title already features over 25 hours of gameplay and is regularly expanded with updates.
“As a small team that started its journey making the JRPG we always wanted to play via Kickstarter, it’s really a dream come true seeing our vision come to life,” said Jeremy Zeler, founder of Midgar Studio. “We grew up making so many unforgettable memories in our favourite JRPGs and hope we can now make such magical moments happen for other players with Edge of Eternity”.
